When we met Anna and Isaac, we absolutely fell in love with them– and when we heard that they wanted to get married in Balboa Park, one of our absolute favorite areas in San Diego? We just knew we had to photograph their San Diego Natural History Museum wedding. An utterly sweet couple with an equally sweet story to match, we just know that you’ll fall in love with them just as much as we have when you hear all about it in today’s blog.
With a rush of energy and excitement, the morning began as Anna woke and began to get ready at their house alongside their bridal party; the excitement only grew further as they arrived at the Natural History Museum.
Accompanied by the incredible Sweet Blossom Weddings team, who had spent the morning tirelessly setting up the venue to match the plans they had created alongside Anna & Isaac. With both Anna & Isaac ready to finally be married, you could feel the energy in the air as the two walked towards the spot they were to meet for their first look.
Yet the second that they saw one another during the first look, it was as if nothing could possibly go wrong. A wave of calm and pure happiness having washed over Anna & Isaac, the two of them were able to step back & savor the moment while they took their couples’ portraits. As we walked in Balboa Park, through the archways, and paths under the evergreen pear trees, Anna and Isaac glowed.
A recurring theme in the ceremony that we loved– and noticed throughout their San Diego Natural History Museum wedding– was the journey over the destination, and the intention throughout the process. An idea that we particularly love as we believe in cherishing the intentions, memories, and moments along the way, big or small. For Anna and Isaac, this was shown during their vows when they described the intentions and practices they brought to their relationship.
As Isaac explained how he worked to be a man worth Anna’s partnership when he found that there was even a chance, and how this chance led him to complete his studies and certificates we found ourselves getting a little misty-eyed behind our viewfinders. And as the two of them walked down the aisle, with the phrase “Journey Over Destination” embroidered on her veil, they entered into the newest part of their journey together.
During the reception, both Anna & Isaac came alive on the dance floor as Dancing DJ Productions spun tunes. Anna, of their San Diego Natural History Museum wedding having changed into a stunning sparkling jumpsuit to be able to bust a move better, she and Isaac twirled around the floor with their friends and took advantage of getting to look throughout the exhibits.
To Anna & Isaac; we hope that you continue to live every day with intention, stepping back and savoring the details behind every day. The way that the two of you look at, cherish, and treat one another is something so incredibly special; it’s easy for anyone to see that you’ve found your person. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us be a part of your day, and choosing us to capture your San Diego Natural History Museum wedding.
