We were absolutely THRILLED when Rene Potter first reached out to us to capture her Rancho Santa Fe family portrait session. We last got to see her and her family during a beautiful senior portrait session for her daughter, Aubree, at the end of 2022 as she began her college process, and we were excited to get a chance to catch up once again as the school year wrapped up!
Yet when Rene let us know that it would be not only her immediate family, but her whole extended family at their Rancho Santa Fe family portrait session? We knew we had to capture this moment for her— and we were so excited when we heard that we would get to meet even more of her wonderful family. The Potters are a Clove & Kin family that we hold NEAR and DEAR to our hearts; with their kind & compassionate hearts, we knew that we would love the rest of their family just like we absolutely adore them.
The experience of savoring the moments that you share with those you love is something we hold dear to our hearts. It’s something we emphasize with every wedding, portrait, and more, yet this beautiful Rancho Santa Fe family portrait session perfectly exemplifies that.
When your family is spread out across the state and country, it’s hard to find the time to gather together and celebrate the moments both big & small together— yet the Potters went out of their way to bring their family together. As we captured photos of their perfectly color coordinated family together and in individual portraits, we got to see them laugh, chat, and catch up about all that had happened in the year past.
With new great-grandchildren for Jack & Marie, Aubree’s graduation, and more, they got to share joyous moments big & small— all while we snapped away. One of our favorite images we captured during all of this? Stephanie’s ADORABLE Pomeranian sprinting around the yard as we took family portraits, which you can see below! Darting around the chairs, in between legs, and around groups of people, it was a consistent source of joy– and laughter– when the Pomeranian would pop up.
