We know you’ll adore this Torrey Pines City Beach Engagement because when we met Jack and Hannah? We knew their relationship was special– and we think you’ll think so too.
Not just any kind of special, but the kind of special that you get to hear about in books, movies, and that’s talked about with reverent breath. It’s the kind of relationship that we all hope for at one point; fall in love with our high school crush, live happily ever after, maybe end up living in a beautiful house in California and explore a little bit every day.
And the secret to that everlasting love? A little bit of spice, adventure, and finding the person that makes your day a little bit better just by being a part of it. When we first got to talking with Jack and Hannah, one of the first things that they both said that they loved about one another was that the other was the one person that could always make a day happier and better by just being around.
Whether it was trying out the newest coffee shop, exploring new beaches, or checking out a new cuisine at a restaurant that had just opened down the block, Jack and Hannah are the kind of people who will find joy and adventure in even the ordinary. So when we suggested Torrey Pines City Beach? They knew that it was the perfect location.
A small stretch of beach at the bottom of the cliffs in between Scripps Pier and Black’s Beach, Hannah and Jack meandered down the access road and through the trail and road to the beach, laughing to themselves and slowly becoming a bit more comfortable as they made their way to the beach.
One of our favorite things was how they were able to get comfortable both with Weston– and in front of the camera. As they walked along the beach during their Torrey Pines City Beach engagement session, Weston got to hear about how Hannah loved how she could bike around her neighborhood and to the beach to just have one fun outing during the day, as well as how they first met– and got engaged.
The first of their friend group to get married, Jack and Hannah have known one another for years. The two met in high school and their relationship quickly went from seeing one another whenever their friends would go to In N Out after football games to seeing one another at In N Out without their friends.
After a few years of getting to know one another and spend time, Jack was certain that he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Hannah; whether it was the way that she was smart, passionate about what she believed in, or the way that she would show how she cared in any way she could, he knew that he didn’t want to risk a chance of spending a day without her.
It was a cold and snowy day in Vail as the pair walked along the trail at their hotel when Jack decided to finally pop the question– 2 days before her birthday. And Hannah? She had absolutely no clue it was coming; but she knew that she couldn’t live without the charismatic, kind hearted man who knew how to make her relax and enjoy the moment, no matter what surrounded her.
And we are so incredibly lucky– and grateful– that they came to us for their wedding photography and to do this absolutely adorable Torrey Pines City Beach engagement session! It’s not every day that we get to walk alongside the first wedding in a friend group, or even a family.
