Though their engagement might have started in sunny Oahu with a mad dash to the hotel to make it in time for a sunset proposal, Stuart and Lauren’s L’Auberge Del Mar Wedding wedding was full of moments where our couple was able to step back, enjoy, and literally chill out during the slight cold snap that hit San Diego.
It may have been drizzling a little bit and a tad chilly at this L’Auberge Del Mar Wedding, but Stuart and Lauren didn’t let that rain on their parade; in fact, it just gave them a reason to get even closer and snuggle up for warmth. And with a hug at the end of the aisle before the ceremony, it seemed like any nerves (or chills) Lauren might have felt while walking down the aisle towards her future husband and the officiant, Bethel Nathan, melted away.
Amongst the love surrounding them, they seemed as though they were in their own world, smiling at and cuddling closer to one another the entire day. And as Stuart and Lauren looked across the ocean view and their friends and family celebrating around them, they took just a moment to think about how their relationship started only just a few blocks from where they stood now, soon to be husband and wife.
Looking at the two of them, you’d hardly know that it wasn’t a perfect warm day in San Diego. As they passed the ring around to those in the audience, asking them to warm and bless it with their best wishes, the two watched their families gather and celebrate them and their future marriage together. With beautiful floral arrangements by Organic Elements, an ocean view wrapped around them, and so much love between Lauren, Stuart and their families, we had a hard time not tearing up behind our viewfinders.
At Clove and Kin, we look to savor the small moments and the things that are important to us, so when our couples bring up the little things they plan to do? One of our absolute FAVORITE things.
Whether it’s giving a nod to their furry friends, wearing a piece of jewelry that had been worn by brides for generations in their family, or going somewhere special for their first look, we love getting to see what our couples hold dear. And Stuart and Lauren’s wedding was full of sweet acknowledgements to their favorite things and people.
With Stuart wearing the Macgregor clan tartan in his tie, a subtle nod to his Scottish heritage and the way they chose to close their ceremony with bagpipes (something that Lauren specifically loved– and requested), there was no shortage of moments that seemed to point to their deep appreciation of those that surrounded them.
And what surrounded them at this L’Auberge Del Mar Wedding? Love, well wishes, and reminders of everything that made Stuart and Lauren “Stuart and Lauren”. While they savored every moment and the beauty that surrounded them, we adored getting to see the couple we had met only a little bit of time ago– and seeing them so blissfully happy, finally married.
To Lauren and Stuart: Thank you, thank you, thank you, for letting us be a part of your special day. From seeing all of the personal and sweet touches at your L’Auberge Del Mar wedding to the way we got to see your family surrounding you two with so much love, it was a beautiful and incredible experience. We hope every day is as sweet and incredible as you two are.
