“I love you…”
I guarantee that three words will make your heart race, and being a wedding photographer I hear that phrase all the time. But it never gets old. Something as beautiful and heartfelt as “I love you” never goes out of style, and never loses its power, just like how the sun’s always shining, and the surf’s always rolling in at the beach. Repeating something like that doesn’t make it less powerful. I think it makes it even stronger.
I see amazing couples all the time, but Jon & Lana were our last of 2012, and they’ve really stuck with me. They’re completely genuine, present, beautiful, and hilarious, and they have a gift for bringing all sorts of people together. From Jon busting out a guitar while the guys were getting dressed to an EPIC game of Family Feud during the reception, you can see that Jon & Lana know how to have fun, and to draw everyone in.
Jon & Lana also remind me of my serious, crippling weakness for Disney films. Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, Snow White… Just like these movies, Jon & Lana remind me of how love was when I was growing up. For something so magical, it’s so simple.
It always starts with “Once Upon a Time,” and it ends with three little words that come after I love you.
“Happily Ever After.”
