We are so, so excited that the day has finally come; we get to share Shea’s and Mark’s BEAUTIFUL Hotel Del Coronado wedding with you! Though we got to spend a little time with them exploring the grounds of the Hotel Del Coronado during their engagement session, it doesn’t compare to this beautiful day planned by our incredible couple and their family with Amanda McPhall & Caitlyn Flannery of Creative Affairs.
The day began early, as Shea, her family, and bridesmaids rose to get ready in the ocean front Windsor Room, with breezes & brunch fueling the excited feeling in the air. One by one, they sat in their chairs to be prepped by Kristi, Stacey, & their team from the Hair & Makeup Box, laughter filling the room as it got closer and closer to the moment Shea and Mark would finally see one another.
Yet what was one of our favorite parts of the day? Getting to see the joy shared between Shea and her family as her mother helped her button up the back of her dress and put on her final touches, and the moment her father first laid eyes on her as a bride. With family being so important to both Shea and Mark, it was such a treat to get to witness and commemorate these intimate moments between them on such a special day.
The time had finally come; as Michelle adjusted Shea’s veil in the narthex of the Immaculata Catholic Church, the music keyed up for Shea and her father to finally walk down the aisle to meet Mark and join him in marriage. This ceremony, to us, was one that we had the hardest time not tearing up behind our viewfinders, as Shea and Mark went out of their way to create a memory that was intimate and personal to them while honoring their faith.
Wanting those they loved to be involved throughout their ceremony, Shea and Mark chose to incorporate so many special moments to take the time with their closest friends and family. From Shea’s friend, who sang Ave Maria, to including family friends of the O’Reillys who had flown all the way from Italy to bring the bread and wine to the altar during the mass, the ceremony was an outpouring of love not only between Shea and Mark, but for all those who loved and treasured the couple.
As we entered the Vista terrace for cocktails and then the Ocean Ballroom alongside Shea & Mark for a quiet moment before the reception began, it took our breath away. A vision of elegance, bedecked in beautiful white florals by Tenfold Style, the ballroom seemingly glowed as we walked throughout the room and watched the couple, and soon after, their guests take it in. The perfect backdrop for the rest of their celebrations, every detail was expertly planned by our couple, their family, and Caitlyn Flannery of Creative Affairs.
The love shared with Shea and Mark was not just limited to the ceremony. With speeches that had us laughing (and once again, tearing up) from Shea’s father, John, her best friend, and her college professor, and Mark’s two brothers, the ultimate first dance, father-daughter dance, and mother-son dance, the night progressed beautifully. Seeing Shea and Mark pulled out onto the dance floor by their closest friends, the night kept abuzz with jubilation and glee. The perfect end to the perfect day, barely a moment went by where the dance floor wasn’t filled as the Mighty Untouchables‘ nine piece band played the night away, as laughter echoed throughout the ballroom.
To Shea & Mark; we are so honored that you chose us to capture your beautiful Hotel Del Coronado wedding, and that we could walk alongside you in this part of your journey. Your love is beautiful, kind, and compassionate, not only for one another but all those who surround you. This is something that everyone should aspire to, and made capturing your wedding even more sweet. We thank our lucky stars every day that you found and chose us– and we hope that every day is as perfect and beautiful as your wedding, and is filled with as much love as we saw.
