Sometimes you meet someone, and they change your entire life. Whether it’s a chance encounter that leaves you with a changed world view or someone who makes you realize that your relationship with is worth moving mountains to be with, they’ll leave an indelible mark on you. For some relationships like this, you know that you couldn’t live without them– and that’s the case for what we saw for Michelle and Justin, a couple that moved their entire lives just to be together.
Held at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, this wedding was intimate, fun, sentimental, and full of moments that had everyone reaching for something to dab our eyes with– making it easily a favorite for anyone looking for #WeddingInspo, because it’s pretty hard to come by a better wedding than this one.
Susanne Duffy of Crown Weddings did an excellent job organizing this event; we loved the way she worked with Michelle and Justin to create the PERFECT day for them, from working with Organic Elements to get the perfect woodsy floral arrangements to the adorable newspaper style programs as a nod to Michelle’s career as a journalist. Even the smaller moments that weren’t scripted like when Michelle’s dad brought Justin into family tradition of cufflinks or the way that nearly everyone was out on the dance floor made it so we couldn’t get enough of this wedding.
An intimate moment that almost made US tear up was when Michelle spoke her vows to Justin; instead of reading off a list of things that she in particular loved about him, Michelle chose to read snippets of her diaries from the years throughout their relationship.
Michelle told the guests about their first dates, the first “I love yous”, and the day she decided to turn down a job offer in a city so she could join Justin in another. There was barely a dry eye in the gallery when she mentioned the last entry– that she knew as soon as she put a guy over her career, that she had found the man she would marry.
And the sentiment carried on throughout the day– whether it was the brief moments that Michelle and Justin took to savor the day and all that had already happened or the speeches given by their bridal party and family members, extolling how much they loved seeing the couple together and the moments they knew they were perfect together. But it wasn’t all tears and sappy emotions– Justin and Michelle wanted a wedding as fun as their relationship is, and Dre Motion Entertainment lived up to the challenge, keeping the guests on the dance floor as they let loose and let the beat carry them late into the night to their sparkler walkout.
Michelle and Justin: We loved getting to know you and share in these incredibly special moments of your life! We’re truly honored that you chose us, and are so glad that after a week of rain that the sun finally came out so you could get a moment on the cliffs to just soak in and savor the entire experience that you had just had– as well as so we could get some stunning photos that you’ll look back on for the rest of your lives.
