When Mona and Trevor first met at a UC Irvine networking event, it was an instant connection. From their interests to their senses of humor and personalities, everything just seemed to click the second that they first met– and it wasn’t long until that first spark grew into a relationship where they could understand one another without saying a single word.
It wasn’t long before both Trevor and Mona knew that their relationship was special– and that Trevor knew that he had found the beautiful, intelligent woman that he wanted to marry. Knowing he wanted it to be a complete surprise to Mona, he orchestrated a faux party in honor of his friend’s birthday to propose to her– and when he walked her to the gazebo of the winery, dripping in flowers? Their closest friends and family were waiting to celebrate the moment, hiding in the bushes and around the area.
A beautiful blend of their cultures, the ceremony of this Waterfront Beach Resort wedding was one to behold. The Sofreh to honor Mona’s faith placed below the Chuppah to honor Trevor’s, the two of them chose to include traditions from both of their families and cultures throughout the ceremony.
What really set apart this beautiful wedding was the details that were perfectly planned by Jen Bergmark of First Pick Planning and the couple. From the beautiful floral arrangements that covered nearly every surface by Eddie Zaratsian to the Sofreh to the beautiful views at this Waterfront Beach Resort wedding, every detail was catered to make this breath-taking day memorable for Trevor and Mona; something that set it apart for them as the detail-oriented couple that they are.
And a detail that particularly stood out to us? Wanting all to understand the significance of their choices, Mona and Trevor elected to have their traditions explained to their guests. Getting to hear not only about the individual traditions, but the mindful way they included and honored them together was such an incredible experience that showed the way both Trevor and Mona treasured their individual cultures– and appreciated the others’.
Throughout the evening, this Waterfront Beach Resort wedding showed how Trevor and Mona chose to create memorable and exciting moments that honored their own traditions. From belly dancers and a roaming violinist to the horah at the reception, they celebrated alongside their family and friends with mindful references to the two of their cultures while creating their own.
However, it was not just the details that made the day special for us; it was getting to see the way that the two of them stepped back and savored the moments that they had just to themselves, such as during the couples’ portraits and first look, as well as throughout the evening.
As the two ventured around their Waterfront Beach Resort wedding during their portraits, it was as if they were the only people around; laughing and smiling with each other, and commenting on how the details that they had perfectly planned had created such a special day. Getting to see Trevor and Mona not only enjoy the day but cherish the small details that they chose and the moments throughout the day is something that reminds us why we love to encourage our couple to savor the moment as while the day passes quickly, these memories that you choose to create will last decades past the day.
To Trevor and Mona; we feel so incredibly lucky that you chose to share your day with us, and that Greg and Stacey loved working with Erin and Jeff so much that they recommended you to us. Your ability to cherish not only the large moments but small details that you choose is something that we hope that you never lose, as with this, every day will be one that is as beautiful and memorable as your Waterfront Beach Resort wedding day– and we hope that every day is.
