When our talented and incredible friend, Brittany Parnell of Parker & Posies brought Jordan & Nicole to us, we knew that this Rancho Las Lomas wedding would be one that we would absolutely treasure the chance to photograph– and we were right! Perfectly planned by Sarah of Aster & Park, there wasn’t a moment that didn’t go off without a hitch. From the moments that Jordan and Nicole got to share alone together, getting a chance to soak in the beauty of the day to the two of them surrounded by their family and friends on the dance floor to the details that were included, this Rancho Las Lomas wedding was planned to a tee to make it a fairy-tale day for them.
Since we didn’t get to have a chance to have our usual engagement session with Nicole & Jordan, we were SO excited to get to know them a little bit better at their rehearsal dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach the night before their wedding. As we walked around the property, we got to know Jordan and Nicole, as well as their propensity to make one another laugh (especially while taking their portraits). While we love our engagement sessions, it was such a treat to get to see them the night before their wedding day as it somehow made us even more excited to photograph what we knew would be a beautiful day!
We weren’t the only ones excited– starting early in the morning, both Nicole and Jordan were woken up to begin preparations for their wedding– and we have to say that they did it in style. With Cheezits and champagne, Nicole got ready, the air abuzz with excitement as her family and friends bustled around while her makeup was artfully done by KG Hair & Makeup. Laughter and joy echoing throughout the Air BNB, the day had finally come; she and Jordan would finally be husband and wife.
As the ceremony began, officiated by Nicole’s oldest brother, they were surrounded by stunning arrangements and “one gross” of their friends and family. Full of laughter and jokes, just like their relationship, the two wrote their own vows with Nicole saying that she knew that Jordan was the one when she saw the incredible relationship that he had with his mother– and how he fit right in to her fun– and chaotic– family to Jordan vowing to love and support her, and to never yell, even when he wakes up to candy in their bed, somehow stuck to him.
One special thing about Nicole & Jordan’s wedding was the relationships that they had represented, not only in their bridal party, but for all in attendance– even the vendors like Parker & Posies, as Brittany had designed stunning arrangements displayed throughout the entire day. It was clear that they were surrounded by so much love, and with each speech and shared laugh throughout the reception, we got to know more about Jordan and Nicole, and the relationships they had formed.
From how Nicole’s maid of honor had been her best friend since she was five to Jordan toasting to how while they kept their circle small, it had been cultivated throughout their lives, and how lucky he felt that they had all made it. And from their friends at their Rancho Las Lomas wedding? We learned once again how Nicole loves to eat sour candy and gummies in bed (to Jordan’s dismay), the stories behind the adopted family they had created with their friends, and how they had built a map of memories as they had traveled the globe.
But moments we especially treasured? Getting to spend time alone with Jordan and Nicole. From getting to see them sit back and soak in the moments before the ceremony at a table in an intimate area of the property to exploring the beautiful Spanish architecture, there was hardly a moment that the two of them didn’t have a smile on their face. Whether they were savoring the day or cracking one another up, we loved getting to see them find and enjoy the little details and seconds they had together.
To Jordan & Nicole; we hope that your days are filled with lazy mornings eating candy salads in bed and moments where you get to explore new locations and find new favorite moments. We are so grateful that Brittany brought you to us, and that you let us be a part of one of the many incredible memories on the map of your relationship.
