Pier South Micro-Wedding | Ruben & Lauren

When it comes to elopements and intimate weddings like this Pier South micro-wedding, we love how they can be both relaxed, yet still be some of the most romantic and momentous events we see.  While these intimate affairs may not be as large as other weddings we cover, we get to see the sweetest moments– and help our couples like Lauren and Ruben take a step back to enjoy and savor the moment.

We loved helping these two take a second to soak in everything that was happening; whether it was pausing so they could take it all in during their couples’ portraits or helping them enjoy their day by giving them a moment to have their Babycakes cake AND eat it too!

And that was certainly the case for Lauren and Ruben’s special Pier South micro-wedding. Both laid back and lowkey, this wedding was all about celebrating the moments small and big that make up their relationship.  We loved how they and Kelly Henderson of the Cohn Restaurant Group really were able to create the perfect moment from them, from the stunning Organic Elements flowers to the incredible location and view at their Pier South micro-wedding

One of our favorite moments of the day was seeing how Lauren actively took time out of her wedding day to care and include everyone– including Ruben’s family– in her vows and throughout the day, showing how much she truly cares for both Ruben and everyone in Ruben’s life.

From translating her vows into Spanish so his family could understand to doting on his children from his previous marriage, Lauren made it clear that they weren’t just starting a family– she and her family were joining Ruben and his family to create a beautiful and happy family together.

There was not a single moment that left us with a dry eye. When Lauren described her relationship as being like Portrait Mode on the IPhone– with everything blurry, but him in focus, never doubting how much she loved him– even amidst the stress of life and being a new paren, we were left tearing up behind our viewfinder.  We also adored getting to see firsthand a way that Lauren and Ruben bond– through music.  When they sat down to sing a song together to how they sang a song together and got to show us another way that they get close, we were left with tears behind our viewfinders.

When it comes to our couples, there is nothing that we love more than seeing how much they love and respect not only one another, but also the family that they marry into.  And seeing Lauren and Ruben interact with one another and their families at this Pier South Micro-Wedding?  It just showed us how they were truly our #dreamies– and how much they loved and appreciated every aspect of one another, including the people who shaped and loved them growing up.

To Lauren and Ruben; thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding!  Whether it was watching you two perform, take care of your children, or interact with your families, it is clear to ANYONE that you two have so much love for everyone in your life– and especially for one another.  Working with you to help you two step back and savor the moments, is something we wouldn’t trade for the world because you two deserve to have your entire wedding day in focus– not just one another.  Sending you alllll the love!

If you absolutely love the idea of an intimate wedding, you’ll love this Intimate Private Estate wedding and this La Jolla Private Estate Wedding.  Both intimate and sweet like Lauren and Ruben’s, we loved the unique takes each had!product photography, san diego product photography, san diego photography, san diego photography, san diego product, product photography, san diego product photography, san diego photography, san diego photography, san diego product,
