Sometimes all it takes is chance, conversation, and drinks at Whisknladle in La Jolla to know you’ve found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with– and a surprise Moonlight Beach engagement to make sure that you get to!
Joe and Andrea’s story starts with a chance encounter and a swipe right– a swipe that would change their lives for the better, even though neither of them knew it at the time (but knew that they thought the other person was cute with a capital C). After initial ‘hellos’ and ‘heys’ and general introductions, it wasn’t long until they were spending every moment that they could talking to one another.
It’s funny how sometimes you can know someone so well before you even meet them in person. Whether it’s talking for hours online, or just that internal gut feeling, you’ll just know them. And that was the case for Andrea and Joe; when it came to their first date at Whisknladle, it was as though it was two old acquaintances meeting up, and they had known one another for years.
And from that one conversation over drinks? Joe knew it was it. He had found his person, and there was no doubt about it; he was excited to be a part of her life, and get to know both Andrea, and her incredibly sweet three and a half year old daughter. It wasn’t long before they started taking trips to Moonlight Beach just to walk around, enjoy their surroundings, and enjoy each other.
Three and a half years later, Andrea’s daughter had known Joe for half of her life, they had been living together for nearly 3 years, heading to Moonlight Beach every week, and Joe knew– it was time.
The pair were walking around Moonlight beach– like they do at least once a week. The group was ambling down the beach, when all of a sudden, Joe pulled out a ring and was down on one very sandy knee, asking Andrea to marry him. Andrea was in absolute shock, having expected him to propose *potentially* when they went to Maui, where she could make sure that she was prepared and picture ready for the moment, but with disheveled hair, normal clothes, and no nail manicure, Andrea accepted– and if there’s one thing they can agree, this Moonlight Beach engagement was perfect.
To Andrea and Joe:
We are SO thrilled that we’ve gotten to follow you along the way and we’re so excited to brag about how cool you are to the rest of the world. Thank you a million times over for letting us be a part of your story; it isn’t that often that we get to see such an incredible relationship, not only between you two, but between you two and Andrea’s daughter. This kind of love is giving, unconditional, and the kind that will create only the happiest of homes… and we feel so incredibly lucky to have witnessed it especially during your Moonlight Beach engagement session.
