It’s life-moments like these that we live to capture.
The air at Camp Pendleton on this particular Saturday was buzzing with anticipation, full of hopeful faces longing to finally hug their loved ones. There were mothers, fathers, spouses, friends, toddlers — counting the seconds until they could hold that person and know they are HOME.
Their heroes – our country’s heroes.
Kristin and her husband Chase have been together since the 8th grade – over 10 years – and each minute spent apart feels like a lifetime. Since the day he left seven long months ago in his helicopter squadron, they’ve both spent hours imagining the moment they’d hold each other again.
And that long-awaited reunion would have to wait just a little longer… when we arrived, Kristin heard from her man that his helicopter had been delayed behind all the rest. So Kristin and her wonderful supportive friend, Veronica, waited while the crowds cleared out. And then finally, like a white knight from the sky, came Chase’s helicopter!
Upon his landing, Kristin ran straight for his arms – and all those hours of worry, hard work, and longing came to a halt in their embrace. It. Was. SO. Romantic! #swoonfest
We were so honored to witness hundreds of families reunited, and it increased our gratitude for the sacrifices these heroes make to serve our country. Kristin and Chase, we’re SO happy for you two — you are the absolute sweetest!
