Booil and Jayoung were married on a beautiful May evening at one of our favorite seaside resorts near San Diego. Their intimate wedding at L’Auberge Del Mar was truly an international event. Jayoung is from Korea, and Booil is Korean-Canadian, and while they have found a home here in Southern California, they had family coming in from all over the world!
Booil is a physician, and Jayoung is a biologist. You can tell as soon as you meet them that they are truly meant for each other. It’s always amazing to see that kind of love.
They met while on a ski trip a few years ago, and Booil proposed to Jayoung in February at the Griffith Observatory. He was so nervous that Jayoung was sure he wasn’t feeling well that night. Little did she know the surprise that he had in store for her!
The wedding was small—mostly family and friends, around 80 people total. The smaller, intimate size added a personal and loving feeling to the whole day. Everyone present knew and deeply cared for these two.
Marriage in Korean culture is about two families coming together, and that was represented so beautifully all day long. Booil and Jayoung had many elements of a traditional Korean wedding mixed in with classic modern touches to make this day their own, and everything turned out so well!
We loved every aspect of this stylish wedding. From the outfits (both modern and traditional) to the stunning details to the absolute joy on Booil’s and Jayoung’s faces—this day was one we will remember for a long time!
