It takes a special someone to commit to a long distance relationship with, but what Ryan and Ashley found in each other was totally worth it.
Ashley was close friends with Ryan’s little brother since her college days, so when friends and family came together for a celebration on the east coast, Boston-dwelling Ashley bumped into San Diego-native Ryan. And well, as they say… the rest is history.
They hit it off that evening, and kept talking, and did that LDR-life for over TWO years. That is, until Ashley made the cross-country move out to San Diego.
When it came time to pop the question, Ryan decided to keep it true-to-them – an evening of sushi, admiring the sunset, and watching the boats go by along the channel made for the perfect precursor to asking her if she’d want to do this together forever.
It was so them, and it was so perfect. And she said YES.
Ryan and Ashley dreamed of a relaxed, natural wedding celebration with all of their closest family and friends, and although their original plans had to shift with the current event restrictions, they were still able to celebrate in a beautiful, special way. They opted for an intimate wedding celebration at a gorgeous private estate in Rancho Santa Fe, CA – and it was intimate, joyful, and aligned with who Ryan and Ashley are as a couple.
Don’t get us wrong – we definitely miss the dance parties and elaborate wedding celebrations of pre-2020 – but there is something oh-so-special about these micro-weddings, as well!
These newlyweds were focused on the most important things: their ride-or-die people, the love of their life, and the chance to celebrate their marriage above all else.
Cheers to THAT. We can’t wait to celebrate with more of our 2021 couples soon!
