The day that Krista first met Shannon through her children and her children’s friends, it was as if time had stopped. All of a sudden, there was a handsome man who knew exactly how to make her smile, who made her feel beautiful, who understood her.

Moving the ceremony into an elegant room indoors, the vendors hustled and transformed the space into an elegant room worthy of being the place this incredible couple would perform their vows. Escorted by her father and son as she walked down the aisle, Krista could hardly hide her joy as she walked towards Shannon. And as she joined him under the arch dripping with floral arrangements by Native Poppy, the way that they looked at one another was as if they were the only two in the world.
It was hard for us not to tear up behind our viewfinders before and during their vows. Whether it was watching Krista gift a bracelet and rings to her children before she walked down the aisle and hearing her vows about her perspective of her and Shannon’s story or watching Shannon tear up and ask his best man to speak his vows as he was overwhelmed by his love for Krista, there was no shortage of moments that had us stifling a few happy tears for them at this intimate La Jolla Shores hotel wedding.
And the rest of the night? The pair danced as if no one was watching, with Shannon wrapping his arms around Krista as they giggled and kissed while they swung around the dance floor to beats spun by Vynce Pham of Music Phreek. As they took breaks throughout the night to talk and dance alongside their families together, there was no shortage of joy that the day had arrived that they had finally become one family.
