When Lauren first met the charming man who crashed her sister-in-law’s bachelorette party, she had no idea that she’d met the person who she’d see as she walked down the aisle at her intimate Glorietta Bay Park wedding– but Alex? He’d catch her eye that moment they met.
A friend of her sister-in-law’s, Alex came into that night expecting to celebrate with her alongside their friends; but he’d walk away starstruck, knowing that he had met his match. After that first night, it was as if they both seemed they had known that they had met that match. Documenting the exact time that he had met her, Alex began to take note of every little thing that Lauren loved just so he could make her day a little better– and so he could get to know the woman he had met even more.
As they got to know one another, it almost seemed like they had been meant to meet. Lauren saw and loved how Alex could bring fun to any situation while still being the most responsible person in the room. And Alex? He found he loved the way that Lauren seemed to light up the room the second that she entered, and the kind way that she treated everyone. As his father joked during his speech, Alex had dove into the periodic tables in high school chemistry and never left, focusing on his career and education– until he brought home Lauren, a fun, vivacious woman who made him laugh harder than they had ever seen.
It was no wonder to anyone when he proposed that one night, walking to the weekly Friday hour below their condo; he had found the person who he knew made him a better him, and who brought out the “wild child” who could be the life of the party. And on the fifth anniversary of the day they met? They’d have the most stunning and intimate Glorietta Bay Park wedding planned by Olivia and the incredible team at Amor Atelier, right near where Alex had grown up in Coronado.
One of our favorite parts about weddings like this intimate Glorietta Bay Park wedding is getting to see all of the ways that family are brought into different parts of the wedding. From Lauren’s ring being Alex’s grandmother’s to the photos that were able to capture the small moments between Lauren and her sisters during her bridal party photos, family was a central theme to their wedding.
After the ceremony, we were able to follow around Alex and Lauren as they headed to the reception on Alex’s family golf cart. With nothing but laughs as they explored Alex’s old stomping grounds around his childhood neighborhood, we were able to see them celebrate by themselves and bask in the fact that they were finally married. It was so much fun getting to see them enjoy the moment and celebrate their marriage as we snapped candid images along the way.
And getting to see Alex and Lauren celebrate alongside their friends and family at a stunning Bluewater Boathouse reception after the golf cart ride was worth the wait. From speeches like Alex’s father’s to gathering around the tables, chatting and laughing, we got to see how happy everyone was to celebrate Alex and Lauren’s marriage.
Throughout the wedding, one thing we noticed in particular was not only the love and appreciation that Alex and Lauren held for one another, but for their family and those who helped to create their wedding. From Lauren commenting how the Refined Beauty makeup and hair artists had done her hair perfectly to Olivia and the amazing team at Amor Atelier planning out her intimate Glorietta Bay Park wedding “exactly as she had envisioned it”, it was evident the love and appreciation went far past her friends and family to all who had created their wedding day.
To Alex & Lauren; we hope that every day that you have is filled with as many moments of pure joy as your wedding day. Whether you’re surprising one another with little reminders of your love or having fun along the way as you did on the golf cart. You two bring out and complement the best in one another, from Alex’s ability to multi-task being the most responsible person in the room and the life of the party to Lauren’s sweet and kind nature and appreciation for everyone who surrounds her.
We cannot thank Olivia enough for introducing you to us– it was truly an honor and blessing to get to photograph your wedding and get to know you two.
