When we say that we loved Maddy and Garrett and their La Valencia wedding, we mean we LOVED them and their wedding. Full of fun, sentimental, and sweet moments, we couldn’t get enough of all of the little details.
It was a day looong overdue– but well worth it. After three years of being engaged, pushing off their wedding because of Covid, and planning with Sweet Blossom Weddings the day had finally come for Maddy and Garrett to get married, and the excited jitters were sinking in. With bubbles and best friends, the couple got ready apart from one another– but that would be the nearly the last time that night they would be apart from another.
It wasn’t long until the two got to be with one another, joining each other at the altar in the absolutely gorgeous Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church; as Garrett looked at Maddy walking down the aisle, it was evident to anyone how much he loved her– and how excited that he was for her to be his wife. From the ceremony on, we don’t think we saw Maddy and Garrett not glued to one another’s side for longer than two minutes, both with the biggest smiles spread across their faces.
Some of the most beautiful and sentimental moments of the night often come from the moments shared between our couple and their families– and Maddy and Garrett shared a moment with their families that had us nearly tearing up. During the speeches, both Maddy and Garrett’s parents gave them sage advice to how they had managed to stay happily married so long, but it was one of their father’s that asked them to look around the room at their families and see all the years of marriage represented.
As they scanned the room, looking at the smiles and love that surrounded them, Maddy and Garrett got to reflect on ALL the shared love in their lives. That’s exactly the kind of moment that we mean when we say savor your wedding; it’s important to take the time to reflect on all the love that surrounds you, and how this is the beginning of your own story.
When it came time to call everyone to the dance floor, Maddy and her bridesmaids took charge, pompoms in hand instead of their beautiful Organic Elements flowers. As Maddy got her friends and family excited to dance, they took to the floor and executed cheers that were so perfectly executed that they got Every. Single. Person. on the dance floor.
And we mean everyone.
While we often see most of the crowd on the dance floor, there are typically a few stragglers who like to linger around the edges or at the tables; but at this La Valencia wedding Maddy and her bridesmaid managed to help get the party going and the dance floor jam packed full. It’s true testament to how much fun Maddy and her bridesmaids are, as well as how INCREDIBLE the Lucky Devil’s Band are; everyone absolutely loved their music and their talent was so evident.
To Garrett and Maddy-
We cannot thank you enough for letting us be a part of your wedding– it truly means the world that you chose us to document your special day, and that we were allowed to hear about and see that both you two and your families share. To know love is to see and feel it; and that’s exactly how we feel about seeing you two together– you two KNOW love.
