Marina & Safy have the kind of love story that bridges continents and defies time zones. They’d gone to the same international business school in Paris, but met for the first time at an alumni reunion in New York City. Seated together at dinner, they immediately hit it off! Marina’s dazzling wit and Safy’s brilliant sense of humor was a perfect match. Later that night at an after-party, Safy entered a best-dressed competition — and wearing his Mad Men best, he won! These two both have a great sense of style, but it’s their natural warmth and charisma that really set them apart.
Their wedding at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe was a perfectly heartfelt expression of who they are as a couple. For Marina & Safy, their family and friends were the most important thing to consider as they were carefully designing their day with Alesha Ballón of EverAfter Events. They wanted their wedding celebration to bring their loved ones together from all over the world — to a place that felt as comfortable as their own home. Expertly guided by Alesha, they selected this gorgeous venue for its intimate, cozy charm.
The lavish floral designs composed by Adrianna Smith Floral Design were a delicate blend of traditional roses and dusty miller with Southern California succulents. Marina’s dress with its basket-woven bodice was pure elegance, and Safy’s classic black suit and white bow tie was a natural fit for a gentleman with excellent taste.
On the day of the wedding, the unusually rich and golden afternoon light ignited the ruffles of clouds overhead, and made the lush foliage of the grounds stunningly vibrant. What takes our breath away, though, are the private moments captured between Marina & Safy at the very start of the day: Marina’s sparkling smile as she tapped her husband-to-be on his shoulder… Safy only able to say Wow at the first sight of his breathtaking bride… their exquisite arch, a doorway dripping with blossoms to symbolize stepping into a new life together… and of course, a lot of laughter and joyful tears until the very end of the night!
