In a sea of ruffles, lace, and too many necklines to count, it can be overwhelming to choose the dresses that are just right for your sweet bridesmaids if you’re hosting a garden wedding. Does anyone else immediately think of 27 Dresses when it comes to this matter?!
Here at Clove & Kin, we can’t get enough of sweet and lovely garden weddings! But we also believe that celebrating amongst the flowers doesn’t mean you can’t get dressed to the nines! It can be tough to find beautiful dresses to flatter each of your best gals while also complementing your environment, but our seriously stylish brides have totally proven it’s possible. To provide some inspiration, we simply had to share some of our favorite looks from our bridesmaids over the years.
First, we just LOVE dresses with a little bit of movement — perfect for an outdoor wedding! Kelly’s girls were adorable in these sky-blue dresses at her and Eli’s Walnut Grove wedding. Those flirty capped sleeves add such a feminine touch – so cute! The ruffle in the sleeves, airy fabric, and sweet tie in the back makes for the perfect classy, yet not-too-formal dress that suits a garden reception.
An ensemble of mix-and-match shades and styles is a fun way to let your girls show some personality! For Amy and Brian’s L’Auberge Del Mar wedding, she chose to go floor-length, and these ladies totally nailed it, each in their own perfect expression! Amy’s girls looked beautiful in their floor-length chiffon dresses, showing that floor-length isn’t reserved for just a black-tie wedding affair. Dressed in various shades of that oh-so-popular blush pink, these ladies fit in perfectly with the surrounding lush greens.
At Jenn and Mack’s sweet Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course wedding, Jenn’s girls wore light lavender dresses with a square neckline that we adore! The shorter length gave these unique babydoll dresses a very crisp, fresh feel that fit in perfectly with the bright, outdoor setting. Jenn’s pastel color palette in the dresses and flowers offset the more tailored, structured cut of the dresses. Plus, they fit each gorgeous girl perfectly, and were completely worry-free on the day of the wedding.
It’s so important that the bridesmaids dresses complement the most important fashion statement of the day — the wedding dress! These creamy champagne strapless dresses were meant to stand alongside Katelyn’s beaded off-white dress at her and James’ dreamy Darlington House wedding. The neutral color and traditional lace is the perfect choice for a classy church ceremony, while the shorter length allowed the girls’ look to flow seamlessly to the garden wedding reception. Love, love, love!
Marissa’s girls wore these simple sage green dresses at her and Matt’s L’Auberge Del Mar wedding, and we cannot get over that neckline! Not only are these dresses flattering, but the gorgeous serene green was a beautiful color on everyone (and that’s tough to do!). It was a perfect color for an outdoor wedding, too!
And what could be more timeless than a little black dress? These lovely ladies proved that black isn’t just for black-tie or ballroom weddings. Next to the vibrant green backdrop of Lauren and Drew’s Japanese Friendship Garden wedding, these pretty little numbers were as elegant as can be! The shorter length kept these ladies looking fresh and light against the beautiful, bright garden scenery. Add a strappy black heel, and you’ve got yourself a classic look that bridesmaids can wear again on several different occasions.
Our brides have simply the most stylish, beautiful taste, so we HAD to share. We hope that you’ve found a bit of inspiration for your own bridesmaids dresses, too!
